CHAPEL

The private stone and brick faced Oratorio at La Preghiera is bright in daylight with its domed pastel cream and pietra serena stone finish, and when illuminated inside by candle light, it has a very cosy, welcoming and magical atmosphere.

There are several wall mounted antique brass candleholders around the walls and also two in antique silver, single, elegant very tall and floor standing. Small extra candles are also scattered around the building, placed on glass bases.

Elegant wooden chairs are provided and seating capacity is for up to 60 guests with extra benches added just outside the chapel doors for further guests. Floral decorations can easily be attached to the chair backs. Other decorations can be added.

Religious, interdenominational or secular ceremonies for weddings, renewal of vows and blessing celebrations are welcomed in the Oratorio in the grounds of La Preghiera. Services can be arranged in several languages. Your own service leaders are also welcomed. Non religious ceremonies and celebrations can also take place in the Chapel.

It is probably the fourth religious building on this site, since the 12th century, with the likelyhood of an original Roman temple dedicated to the Spirits of the Water as its foundation.

Access is by the main entrance to La Preghiera, through the garden, along a wide winding gravel path flanked by banks of fragrant lavender and rosemary, lending itself for a lovely informal and traditional approach for wedding couples and their guests with lots of photo opportunities.
