Umbria has a wealth of talented musicians ranging from choral singing and classical music to traditional Italian music and jazz. Perugia, the capital of Umbria is host to the international annual Umbrian Jazz Festival and has a world class "Conservatorio" or college of music where many famous Italian musicians have graduated. We are lucky to know some of these musicians and they are available to play for your wedding here at La Preghiera.

The choral group "Cantus Vocum" sing a capella under the direction of Maestro Maurizio Poesini and provide a wonderful accompaniment to a wedding ceremony in the chapel at La Preghiera. Their repertoire includes madrigals from the medieval and baroque periods through to soul, gospel and traditional folk music.

Alternatively, a harpist can play during your ceremony or afterwards at the aperitivo providing an elegant backdrop of classical music for your guests to enjoy.

Perhaps a solo voice and piano during the ceremony either at La Preghiera or in the Comune to sing your favourite aria, Ave Maria, or classical piece...

A swing band playing classic jazz repertoire is available, the Marconi Jazz Trio (piano, female vocalist and trumpet), featuring Maestro Marco Marconi on the piano. Including standards from the '40s and '50s made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and more recently Michael Bublè, the trio will help you dance the night away after the wedding reception, whilst Marco could play elegant lounge music and contemporary jazz during the wedding dinner itself. Extra players can be added to the trio including drums, double bass and saxophone as required

A string quartet can play in the garden while the guests arrive, or in the church, or during the aperitivo after the ceremony.

If you are looking for more traditional Italian music including the accordion, there is a band available to play a wide range of Italian folk songs and pop songs with some salsa mixed in as well!

The choice is yours, for any combination of these alternatives and we will be happy to help with suggestions.
